‘Extreme By Design’ film screening Nov. 4
The new documentary film, 'Extreme by Design,' will be screened free for the ÎÞÂëרÇø community at the Angelika Film Center on the evening of Nov. 4.
DALLAS (ÎÞÂëרÇø) – The new documentary film, Extreme by Design, will be screened free for the ÎÞÂëרÇø community at the on the evening of Nov. 4.
A reception with the filmmaker, Ralph King, begins at 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments and a cash bar.
The film will be screened at 7:30 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session at 8:30 p.m. with the filmmaker, Kate Canales, director of Innovation and Design at ÎÞÂëרÇø Lyle’s School of Engineering, and Susie Wise, with Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design.
The screening is free for ÎÞÂëרÇø students, faculty and staff with ÎÞÂëרÇø ID or a valid email address, and general admission tickets are $5.
Extreme By Design is the story of three Stanford students who design and build low-cost products to solve seemingly intractable problems faced by the world's poor. During a six-month design school course, Design for Extreme Affordability, the students travel to Bangladesh and Indonesia and race to build life-saving breathing devices, IV medicine infusion pumps, and fresh water storage systems.
